Cyprus is celebrating a record-breaking year for tourism, with 2024 marking the first time the island welcomed over 4 million visitors.

The first indications for the upcoming tourism season are positive, the president of the Hellenic Chamber of Hotels, Alexandros Vassilikos, pointed out on Wednesday at an event on the occasion of the 90th anniversary of the establishment and operation of the chamber.

Spanish low-cost carrier Volotea announced this week it is shutting down its hub at Athens Airport after six years of operation, while maintaining all its flights to and from Greece.

Olympiakos added a second win in its Spanish expedition this week, beating Real Madrid.
